Claude Debussy was born in Saint-Germain-en- Laye, France, on August 22nd, 1862. He died in Paris on March 25th, 1918, in the midst of the aerial and artillery bombardment of the city during the Spring offensive of World War I. On account of the military situation a public funeral was not possible. the funeral procession wound its way through deserted streets to Pere Lachaise cemetery as shells pounded the city. Shortly after the war ended, Debussy was reinterred in the Cimitiere de Passy sequestered behind the Trocadero. across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower. his wife and daughter are buried with him. him. him. arranged for Bb clarinet and piano from the original solo piano pieces by Alfred Piguet. this is a reprint of the 1912 Durand edition.
