For this poem I decided to use my previously composed piano solo Stillness for the musical background with the vocal part spoken above. This poem may be performed in either French or English. It is usually sung as part of a tryptych consising of Pebbles, Debris. Le Cerisier and Detuned. Stillness. I was immediately attracted to the imagery and almost surrealistic nature of this poem and immediately thought that my piano solo, Stillness, was the perfect music to combine with the text.
