Krisztus megszületett. Jonathan Willcocks. Kórus kotta.

Forrás

Christ Is Born composed by Jonathan Willcocks. For SATB choir. Cantatas. Christmas, Sacred. Choral octavo. Duration 45 minutes. Published by Roger Dean Publishing. LO.CC122. For nearly two thousand years poets and musicians have celebrated the Gospel account of the birth of Jesus in verse and music. From the plainsong Christmas hymns of the fourth century, through the ornate medieval and Renaissance motets, Bach's "Christmas Oratorio," Handel's "Messiah," and innumerable carols, both traditional and of more recent origin, there is a wealth of music available to enhance the beauty of the Festival of Christmas. But art does not stand still and we should not rely solely upon our glorious heritage of poetry and music from past ages. We need also the poetry and music which reflects the language of our own day when contemplating an event which occurred nearly two thousand years ago but is still important in the minds of Christians. We hope that "Christ Is Born" will appeal to choir directors, choirs, and organists who enjoy a musical challenge. Audiences and congregations will be reminded once again that Christmas is a joyous festival. Out of Your Sleep. Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus. Our Christ Is Born. A Child Is Born. Lullay My Liking. God Rest You Merry. Infant Holy. Past Three A Clock. A Spotless Rose. Celebration Carol. Christ Is Born.
