Steve Burch vividly portrays the bravery and glory of the Roman centurion in this thrilling composition. The 12/8 meter proves a powerful tool for the rhythmic impetus of this work. Although martial in character, it is not cast in the traditional march form and, in fact, remains in the key of F throughout.
