The first etude. "Echoes". is a rather innocent exploration of bitonality created by two melodies, each a bit in its own world. the second. "Fanfare". creates a wide sonic palate with bitonality again a feature as the voices emulate trumpets. and the third. "Festive Ostinato". features a unison melody joined by a small drum sounding the ever-present, ever-dramatic ostinato. A Czech childrens's choir provides am exemplary performance of this challenging, fun piece on the SBMP CD titled "MultiCultural. Echoes. Fanfare. Festive Ostinato.
